Borrowing from residential neighbours is one of the most efficient ways to access tools and gear without the cost or clutter of buying. However, smooth neighbour sharing depends on clear communication, mutual respect, and prompt returns.

Step 1: Search and Submit Your Borrow Request
Browse LendNest's Borrow catalog or search directly for what you need (e.g., 'Bosch Drill' or 'Camping Tent').
Select your needed start and return dates, specify the quantity, and write a polite, descriptive note explaining your intended use (e.g., 'Need to hang three wall frames on Saturday morning').
Step 2: Coordinate Common-Area Handover
Once the lister approves your request, coordinate a convenient handover time in a well-lit, secure common area—such as your building's ground-floor reception, clubhouse, or society gate.
LendNest strictly protects your privacy: neither you nor the lister ever needs to disclose flat numbers, towers, or private phone numbers.
Step 3: Inspect Condition & Test Functionality
During handover, take 60 seconds to inspect the item together. For power tools, plug the tool in or verify battery charge. Check that all accessories, bits, or cords are present and noted.
Step 4: Care for the Item During Use
Treat the borrowed equipment as if it belongs to your closest friend. Use it strictly for its intended purpose, avoid overloading electric motors, and keep items sheltered from dust and rain.
Step 5: Clean and Return on Time
Wipe down surfaces, coil power cords neatly, and pack all original cases before the scheduled return window. Meet back at the designated lobby to complete the return.
