1. About LendNest

LendNest provides the software and verification workflows to facilitate safe local neighbor-to-neighbor interactions. Unless explicitly stated otherwise in writing, LendNest is not the owner, seller, lessor, or manufacturer of any items listed by users on the platform.

2. Eligibility & Account Registration

To use LendNest, you must create an account with accurate, truthful, and current information. You are responsible for safeguarding your login credentials and for all activities occurring under your account.

Access to certain marketplace features and community-level listings requires completing residential community verification. LendNest reserves the right to suspend or restrict access to users who submit false, deceptive, or misleading account details.

3. Community Verification

Community verification is designed to foster a trusted residential ecosystem by confirming local residency through designated administrative review or proof of residency methods.

Verification is intended solely to establish community residency trust. It does not constitute an endorsement, guarantee, or warranty by LendNest regarding any user's individual conduct, identity beyond the submitted proof, or the quality or condition of any listed items.

All resident verification documentation and notes are treated as confidential administrative records and are never displayed publicly.

4. Listings & Item Accuracy

When publishing a listing on LendNest, you represent and warrant that:

• You are the lawful owner of the item or have full legal authority to lend or give it away.
• The item's title, description, category, photos, and condition (e.g., Brand New, Like New, Good, Fair) are honest, accurate, and not misleading.
• The item is in safe, functional working order unless explicitly disclosed otherwise in the description.
• The item conforms to platform value limits (e.g., maximum item valuation of ₹10,000).

5. Borrowing Responsibilities & Care

When borrowing an item from a neighbor:

• You agree to treat the item with care and use it only for its intended lawful purpose.
• You agree to return the item to the owner on or before the agreed return date and time, in the same condition as received (reasonable wear and tear excepted).
• Both owner and borrower agree to follow agreed-upon pickup and return handoffs in designated safe common areas.

6. Give Away Listings & Free Transfers

Give Away listings on LendNest are strictly 100% free to receive. Users may not charge fees, request hidden payments, or demand monetary compensation for giveaway items.

Owners retain full discretion in selecting a recipient from interested neighbors. Giveaway items are provided on an "as-is, where-is" basis without warranties of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose from LendNest.

7. Privacy & Safe Common-Area Handoffs

LendNest enforces a strict privacy-first standard: exact home addresses, flat numbers, and tower details are never shown on public marketplace pages or listing cards.

Pickup and handoff instructions are shared privately between the listing owner and the confirmed borrower or recipient only after a transaction or handoff is accepted. Users are strongly encouraged to conduct all exchanges in secure, well-lit common areas (e.g., society clubhouse, main lobby, or security gate).

8. User Conduct & Zero Tolerance

Users must interact respectfully and honorably. The following conduct is strictly prohibited:

• Harassment, threats, hate speech, abusive language, or discrimination.
• Fraudulent activity, deceptive listings, identity impersonation, or scam attempts.
• Attempting to harvest, solicit, or publicly publish private residential flat numbers, phone numbers, or personal proof documents.
• Circumventing platform safety controls, RLS policies, or authentication mechanisms.

9. Prohibited Items & Services

You may not list, lend, or give away any of the following on LendNest:

• Illegal, hazardous, toxic, explosive, or restricted materials.
• Weapons, firearms, ammunition, or dangerous sharp implements.
• Prescription medication, medical drugs, controlled substances, or tobacco/alcohol products.
• Stolen, counterfeit, or unlawfully acquired property.
• Adult or explicit content.
• Financial instruments, real estate, or professional personal services.

10. Dispute Handling

If a disagreement arises regarding a borrowed item, pickup schedule, or item condition, participants should first attempt to resolve the issue amicably through respectful neighborly communication.

If a resolution cannot be reached or you suspect a breach of platform safety rules, you may report the incident to LendNest support via our Contact Us page for administrative review.

11. Suspension & Account Termination

LendNest reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to suspend, terminate, or restrict access to any account at any time if we determine or suspect:

• A violation of these Terms & Conditions or our Community Guidelines.
• Fraudulent, abusive, deceptive, or threatening behavior toward neighbors or community administrators.
• Rejection or revocation of verified community membership.
• Any risk to community safety or platform integrity.

12. User Content

You retain ownership of the text, descriptions, and photographs you post to LendNest. By submitting content, you grant LendNest a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to display and format your listing for marketplace and search discovery purposes within the platform.

LendNest reserves the right to remove any content that violates these Terms or is deemed inappropriate, offensive, or inaccurate.

13. Platform Availability

LendNest is provided on an "as available" basis. While we strive for maximum uptime and reliability, the platform may experience scheduled maintenance, updates, or temporary interruptions without prior notice.

14. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, LendNest, its operators, directors, and affiliates shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of property, personal injury, damage to items, or disputes arising out of neighbor-to-neighbor lending, borrowing, or giveaway exchanges.

15. Modifications to Terms

We may revise these Terms & Conditions from time to time. When changes are made, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Your continued use of LendNest after revised terms become effective constitutes your acceptance of the updated terms.
